I do suggest that you sync the clock using a tool or a time server from your settings.
The official US time is at www.time.gov or you can go to your time settings on your computer and turn on the option to sync from a time server.

I would test it and or replace it the other options are ...
You could have set it two minutes ahead and not known it.
You could have a person in your house messing with your head and they set it forward.
But what I recall my instructor in PC maintenance saying was that it was caused by a dying battery. It's a button battery.
