Why is the Firefox icon missing in my Windows Vista X32?
Two months ago, I downloaded a new version of Firefox. Everything has been working just fine until two days ago, when I booted my computer and noticed that the Firefox icon was missing on the start menu, task bar and also on the desktop. It only showed a kind of square box. Every other thing on the operating system is still working fine but I am afraid it could mean a bug or some kind of virus. Can anyone help out please?

I wouldn't sweat it.
You probably just upgrade IE or installed Google Chrome and it reset you browser preferences. In fact if you look at the start menu you should see the default browser listed at the top right above the default Mail client. If you see Internet Explorer then there's your answer.
Two ways to set Firefox back to default
1. Click Start Menu > Type "internet" > click on internet options > click on tab called "programs" > then click the button labeled "Set Programs" This will open a Control Panel windows click on set default programs > inside this window make the change
2. Open Firefox > Start menu > type "fire" > click firefox > inside Firefox click "tools" > then "options" > in the window click the tab "Advanced" > then click the sub tab "General"> then look at the option near the botton about checking each time to see if Firefox is the default > nex to the check box is a button; click it "check now"
If the icons a deal this is all you do but keep in mind the above should change the default internet icon in the start menu to FF.
But to add more just click Start menu> type "fire" > locate the icon for Firefox that the start menu search brings up then right click on it. Then click pin icon to start menu or "Send to" then "desktop icon".
Hope that helps.
