Why is the equation y= -x+b its own inverse?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

So the inverse of an equation is when you switch the x and the y.
So if you have:
y = -x +b
The inverse of that would be:
x = -y + b
So then if you add "y" to both sides you get:
x + y = b
Then subtract "x" from both sides:
y = -x + b
So you end up with the same equation. So the equation and the inverse of the equation actually mean the same thing in this case. I hope that was a good explanation, please feel free to ask follow up or clarification questions as a comment to this answer.

You should have said more about what inverse equation(or function) means.
