I haven't registered myself on imeem or last.fm but I do have blip.fm (and they use imeem) and the big difference would be that you "tweet" the song on blip.fm but in Spotify you just listen to your playlists.
I think that Spotify have more songs than imeem, last.fm or blip.fm and Spotify's streaming is great. The design is very fancy and you can share your playlists to others BUT you can't "chatt" or be "tweeting" what you think about the songs your listening to.
Now it's up to you if Spotify is better than imeem or last.fm.
