Why is Philosophy listed under Arts & Design? I don't get it. Oh, the angst.

Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

As an academic subject, Philosophy is generally listed under humanities, so that might be why it's under Arts. But my old college (University of Rochester) let us consider philosophy as satisfying either our social sciences or humanities requirements. Given the list they've constructed, I totally agree that it shouldn't be listed there. I think that it should definitely be under Social Sciences.
