Why is New Jersey considered weird? I've seen the title Weird NJ somewhere, and I'm wondering if there really is anything truly weird.
Why did they pick New Jersey, why not some other state?

Weird NJ is a magazine that showcases things in the state of New Jersey that are quirky and out of the ordinary. It's also the title of a book that compiles some of the most popular and interesting submissions to the magazine and includes some new information. There are Weird books for other states as well, and websites and magazines for those states. The magazine started in 1989, and it originated in New Jersey for no specific reason other than interest from people. New Jersey does have several urban legends to its name, including the Jersey Devil, but the fact that the magazine started there is arbitrary.
