Why is iPad Answers set up the way it is?

My user experience seems to be confusing... I answer an iPad question through MA and, when done, I'm sent to iPad Answers! I should be brought back to my originating website.

And... It seems that iPad Answers dilutes the MA experience. Do I go to iPad Answers for questions/answers or MA? Are there other topics that are offshoots?

Very strange... please don't let The Conundrumland Debacle happen again....

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Thanks for the feedback... I know you're firmly in the one-answer site camp and understand the arguments for that.

We are currently testing having a vertical community site around just one topic: the iPad. The idea is that 100% of the site is dedicated to one thing to bring in the top users in that space.

However, our goal is to have our cake and eat it too: we will have the questions syndicated on iPad-Answers.com AND on Mahalo Answers without users ever having to leave either site.

Currently we are testing sending folks to the sister site while listing the questions here. We will test the concept of having the answer threads on both sites shortly.

1. I think these offshoots are here for the reason of SEO.
Urls of “iPad something” will have better SEO than “Mahalo… sub sub sub directory iPad” when the search is on “iPad”.

2. Offshoots: iPad Answer, Toyota Answers, God of War Answers, Conundrum
There are at least these few.
I try to find out whether there are others in this
question of mine.

3.I’ll still go to Mahalo for Q an A as I can see questions of both Mahalo and its offshoots in Mahalo.

4. You have a point.. It will be better if we can go back to Mahalo after directed to iPad Answers.
I guess just a link will do the trick.
“Back” may work too.
Currently we can’t click “back” to go back to Mahalo.

iPad Answers is in in alpha stage, so a lot of the more unexpected behavior may just be down to a lack of it being fully polished and refined.

Still, it's worth discussing how it should be set up, and where the rough edges are in how it works now.

One strange thing I found is that I can't tweet a question that has been answered. Only unanswered questions have the tweet button showing.
