I guess it just depends on how you look at Howard Stern. I only compare him (all exaggerated) because he was/is groundbreaking in his own right. He was/is a true pioneer of talk radio. You don’t have to appreciate his content, and you don’t have to like what he says, but you do have to understand that he changed the landscape and created a world that allows many people to speak their minds. And, if you aren’t a fan, I can guarantee he opened the door for someone you are a fan of.
Howard Stern is the walking Bill of Rights, right or wrong, it’s his choice. You can thank him, or hate him, but you can never fault him for being who he is. And although I’m not listening to him, that doesn’t mean I don’t respect what he’s done.
