Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Composting can help the environment in many ways but here are a few:
1. Composting keeps materials out of landfills. Instead of putting kitchen scraps and yard waste in a landfill, by putting them in a compost pile you are decreasing the waste that is in landfills.
2. Compost improves the health of soil. The composting process creates micro-organisms which break organic matter down into humus. Humus helps soil retain moisture and can help keep soil free of diseases.
3. Compost reduces need for other products. By making your own compost, you’ll need less fertilizer, water and pesticides. Each of these products you would buy leaves an economic and carbon footprint that compost reduces.
