Why hasn't the Xbox 360 came out with a version of Counter-Strike?

I really enjoyed playing Counter Strike on the original xbox. Why hasn't there been another for the console since?
I think it is different enough from CoD....

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Dated visuals and super-hardcore gameplay make it a tough sell. I understand that Counter-Strike has dedicated fans but I think there's only so many of them, and they'd probably rather play on the PC with a keyboard and mouse anyway.

Xbox 360 doesn't come out with games, the studios do. If none of the studios thinks the game can sell, they won't touch it even if it is the coolest thing ever.

From the link, you can see that CS for Xbox was not the most successful game. For a game to have major success on a console it would require a campaign of some sort. COD definitely delivers this as well as the online play, which is required for a $65 game.

I'm surprised no one brought up the existence of Call Of Duty.

That is the reason. Call Of Duty is an excellent game, and so are its future versions through the version "World At War".

Counter strike is passed its prime, Valve believes it wouldn't sell on the system.

1. Bad image brought from teenagers shooting at people as with Grand Theft Auto.
2. The game requires a high level of communication and user skill, better suited for the PC; playing online with inexperienced kids ruins it.
3. It was pretty good on the Xbox, but not popular.
