For a long time the Solovetsky Islands were only open to Russian tourists but were always popular. Recently, they have been open to Western visitors more often and there is a number of reason why they could be drawing people there. Some of the main things to think about are the fact that they have a rich marine life, villages, a vibrant history that can draw in people that have an interest in historical sites. There are museums, ancient monastery and stone labyrinths which all appeal to the tourist and the imagination. There is so much the islands have to offer people to come see!
