M$Mine is kind of a conspiracy theory type of thing. I'm sure they don't have QA testers re-measuring the exact ounces, and I sort of think they're really telling you a 20 oz. bottle of coke is 20 ounces when it's really more like 18.5 oz after they fiddle with the bottom. It also makes it more stable, but I think they're probably cheating us out of fluid. It saves them a couple of cents per bottle, you know.
I'd have to agree, but I would clarify. You get 12 oz in a standard can soda, but if the bottom was flattened out the can would hold more, but if you curve the bottom of it upward you reduce the total volume of the container without reducing the APPEARANCE of the size. Point: They do it so the container still looks big, but holds less.
