There is currently a bug that's causing the total number of answers (whether by activated users or not) to be shown on the homepage and category pages; we're working on fixing it.

@eger: When a user hasn't yet authenticated, there is a form at the top of every page reminding them to do so.
Is there anyway to 'remind' people to click on the activation link? I'd hate to think there is someone out there who's going around answering questions and hoping for tips without realizing they can't receive tips.
