Why does naturaly completely straight hair go crazy curly when it's wet outside?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Humidity affects the length of hair. High humidity causes hair to get shorter, and most naturally straight hair will curve as it gets shorter because some parts of the hair get shorter than others (i. e. one side of the hair gets 1mm shorter whereas the other side gets 1.2mm shorter), causing the hair to curve.

I voted this as "Best Answer," but with reservation. While I didn't find any evidence of plagiarism, a source in the box would be appreciated, even if you simply say "personal knowledge," or "knowledge as a professional hairdresser," etc. Without proper attribution, there's no way to know that the answer is free of plagiarism. If this answer comes completely from your own knowledge, then well done.
