I guess this won't be a really helpful answer, but it's the truth - it keeps crashing because it's crappy software. I've used the kodak easyshare software in the past and it crashed alot on me too.
I would reccomend using your operating system's functionality to import pictures (in windows use the popup that comes up, on mac use iphoto).
If you want to try troubleshooting, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the software and that may help, but it's unlikely. If you take my suggestion and use your operating system's functionality I would uninstall the kodak software.
