Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

Facebook is a Godsend for me, as I live thousands of miles from many of my friends and family too. Although I don't interact with most of them through messages that often, by occasionally seeing their statuses and photos, I can keep up with them in a way. I know what's going on in their lives, I know who's gotten married, who's pregnant, how this person's looks have changed, etc. It means a lot to me, and it's great since I can't see all of my friends personally.

Getting a little facebook-happy and being on it too much can and does happen, but I think the pros outweigh the cons. My mother, for example has reconnected with many of her old friends and school buddies, and has told me how lucky I am that I have this technology these days, because it wasn't so easy to keep in touch with people when she was growing up. So I think social networking such as facebook is something to be appreciated.

I used to like Facebook when it was exclusively for college students. It grew quickly even before being opened to the general public for a couple of reasons. Each update added useful new dimensions of how college students could share with their pals all of the crazy stuff that happened over the past weekend (ie notes, statuses, posting pictures, posting videos, etc). Then came the news feed which proactively gave users information about their faceobok friend's activities. Facebook chat was another big addition. Combining these features from other sites like Myspace and Xanga, plus integrating an IM feature (anyone remember AIM?) helped Facebook become THE social networking website.

But then the people at Facebook saw the dollar signs of making Facebook open to everyone and simply couldn't resist. When this happened, it sacrificed one crucial thing that Facebook previously had over it's competitors; the assurance that it's users were REAL. This is one thing big factor that people don't talk about, usually because they're new to social networking. But if you've been social networking for years like I have, you remember the main reason for leaving Xanga and Myspace: all of the fake people. And by fake people, I mean people who would pretend to be other people after stealing their pictures. Or people who would write posts made up completely of lies; about how they stopped a mugger one day, the next they went sky-diving, and took a private jet to Hawaii another day. When Facebook was opened up to "everyone", in came all of the fakes, promoters, and spammers. And nowadays, updates don't seem to add any new useful features, but instead only succeed in confusing Facebook users by scrambling around the site's features.

In the end, I like Facebook because I have many college classmates and real-life friends that I interact with through the sites many features. But I don't use Facebook nearly as much as I previously did because of all of the fakes and spammers sending random friend requests, application requests, or event invitations. Not to mention the friend requests and messages from people in high school that you haven't talked to since high school (for a reason) or people that you met one time in your life that now want to be Facebook friends with you.

I dont like Facebook as I believe it takes away the mystery and fun of meeting people for the first time
and gives an edge where there should only be anticipation and/or excitement at meeting someone new
who needs to give a life CV anyway cos that what ur doing each time you logon to Facebook:(
not for me thanks

Hello. I actually don't like facebook, but I have a facebook account. I have it only for a few family members, and a few very close friends. As I live in another country, I can be in contact with family more often, and exchange pictures etc. I know i could use e-mail for this as well, but seems to be easier to interact with facebook. But I think facebook has alot of things against it, if not used properly. I think it could be quite negative for young people to get too involved in facebook, and wonder how people can actually keep up with say, 955 friends! I don't think it's healthy for them to air every one of their problems openly, like they do on facebook. But, that is just my personal opinion. I'm sure there will be a lot of people who don't agree with me on this.

we can check it from all perspectives; and what I personally perceived
I like is because it meets my expectations, I use it for social interactions, making friends, uploading photos, sharing ideas and videos i like, commenting on friends shared items, reaching and saying hello to friends that usually can't face to face due to busy time and for marketing purpose.
and other perspectives are;
I like it because it is the most used social media
Highest traffic and all type of demographic profiles on Facebook
more professional with every day passing
businesses first priority as a social media marketing tool
allow us to develop a unique fan page for individuality as well as for business
and most importantly, its catchy name ' Facebook' one's own Facebook
see how they engage users and give power of developing their own Facebook

and why don't - every business or social media has flaws. Facebook only has some privacy concerns and with the passage of time the company considered these too and changing its strategy to make Facebook more secure in terms of privacy.
Thank You

My favorite part of Facebook is keeping in touch with family. Then I like finding old friends, friends from high school especially and family members with whom I have lost touch. I like making new friends and keeping in touch with friends I haven't heard from in years.

I personally adore facebook - I have heard so much of people reconnecting/rekindling a new friendship from someone they want to school with, worked with, maybe a relative they havent heard from in a white. There are so many ways to build up friendships with people you sometimes might have never gotten the chance to know. YOu get a glimpse into other people's lives with status updates and pictures.
I think its a great connection tool for society to use :) That's the reason I like going to the site
