Why do wreckers have lights on the top of their cab like police and fire?
Whenever you see a wrecker - the trucks that tow your car after a wreck (or from the illegal but "convenient" parking place near your local pub), they have those yellow lights on the top of their cabs going.
Why? You don't have to move over like when police or fire come through...

Since the driver is many times outside of the truck hooking up a car to tow, I t is probably there to make sure that traffic can see them. Also when working on a wreck it would help to prevent other cars from not stopping in time and hitting the stalled car.
These are what I think aobut when I see the lights.
