Why do some answers recieve no votes?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I also don't think that people realize they get points for voting. I only see a handful of people regularly voting, and those tend to be high belt levels--which is probably one reason they ARE high belt levels.
For people reading this answer, if you're going to vote, please don't just select the first one on the list. Take the time to really read through and think about the answers. Look to see if someone really addressed the question; if they made a good effort to explain; if they included GOOD sources--anyone can throw a link out there, but does the link really back up what they say? I always give bonus consideration to good illustrations, good pics and good videos, as well as well-written/well-organized answers.
I hope that helps explain at least a little of it.

M$The only time a question gets the "No Best Answer" declaration is if the person who posed the question selects that option or the majority of the voters select "No Best Answer"
Do you have any examples of your problem that I can look at?
