Why do Smarties tell you the 'half tube serving calories'. Who doesn't eat a full tube?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Welcome to the genius of labels. Would you rather eat 100 calories of candy or 200? 100, right? Manufacturers use this technique of labeling food to get people to think that they are eating fewer calories... or less salt... or... That's why you REALLY need to read labels... especially how big a serving is.

You're right... who DOESN'T eat a full tube. When people look at that Smarties tube, they'll assume a certain amount of calories because they won't look carefully.

Good spot!
