Why do people ask questions that google can answer instantly.

Dont get me wrong i like this site and think its valuable, but i see questions that can be answered instantly by google.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

They may be using a smartphone or some other mobile device and find Google hard to use. They may want to know the answer and aren't in a big enough hurry that they need to know right this second. They may prefer to have someone else do the research work and simply provide an answer. Google can be frustrating if the question you want answered has tonnes of results that aren't applicable to your question and you have to wade through them all.

They are either lazy, or if they are using twitter and can't browse google, they can text the question to mahalo and get a text response back.

I think, they wanted to get the results without spending time for searching. Google will give so many answers, one has to do some research to find out what one really wants
In Mahalo, someone will do the research and put the sources and their conclusions too. So it is still better to ask
Also mahalo can be benefited from all the answers.

It is also possible that they don't know how to effectively search Google. It is a skill. It also depends on how fast you read and synthesize information. Until my children got better at it, I would do the web searches for them and give them a list of links. My daughter one time spent over eight hours looking up information online for a history paper that I was able to find in less than 30 minutes.
