Many factors will play in the amount of time a dog will sleep. Environment, the amount of time they actually work, etc. A dog like that spoiled Bulldog in the picture just has a great and comfortable environment in which to snooze. Dogs can actually sleep out of boredom too, so make sure your dog is stimulated and entertained throughout the day if you think your dog is sleeping more than 12 hours.
