Why didn't original Journey singer Steve Perry reunite with the band for the Super Bowl pre-game show?

I guess the reason for that is Arnel Pineda has been doing a great job as the lead singer of the group since 2007.

Because in the late 90's after recording "Trial By Fire" Steve Perry needed hip surgery. Neal Schon didn't want to wait for him to get it and replaced him. There is NO REPLACEMENT for STEVE PERRY!! They should have changed their name. (They all have recorded under different names in the past) Then they could have gotten back together as JOURNEY at a later date. Hopefully they will mend their differences (Neal and Jonathan need to apologize to Steve) Until then they will only be a cover band for the real thing!!

I totally agree with "bcd",I've been a fan of Steve's since the late 70's,no other like him and never will be,I miss him!
