Why did the band A Perfect Circle go on a four year hiatus?
I have always been a huge A perfect circle fan as well as a Tool fan, because I think Maynard Keenan has quite the voice, and quite the talent. However I noticed that A Perfect Circle was formed after the band Tool, however they had a four year hiatus after only being around for 5 years. I am curious as to what lead to this hiatus. Did Maynard Keenan still consider Tool as his number one priority or was there some type of temporary falling out with the band?

The official word is that they are "exploring other musical endeavors."
You already know that Maynard Keenan fronts Tool; he also sells wine. Billy Howerdel has a solo project, and Josh Freese is working with NiN.
