The only statement in the press regarding her "well being" stated:
"Friends of Miss Gordon said she had been deeply affected by the recent suicide of a friend back in Britain."
Still, suicide by hanging is not a common method used by women who want to commit suicide.
We will never know why people choose to end their lives. It seems like such a waste.
