Why did Darth Vader and others from "Star Wars" just help ring the opening bell on the New York Stock Exchange? And...
...is that a really bad omen for the coming year???

The Star Wars bell ringing was a celebration of more than 30 years of the "beloved" brand and lots of green lining George Lucas' pockets.
While Darth Vader is iconic, I would think they could have rounded out the cast of characters with some of the more "lovable" ones - heck, Mark Hamill is probably available and from what I've seen of the trailer, Harrison Ford would be better attending this ceremony than making Extraordinary Measures (which looked bad enough that I thought it was a made-for-TV movie). If nothing else they could have rounded up C3PO, R2D2, Yoda and an Ewok...though we probably wouldn't have been able to see the last three over the top of the railing.
Maybe the Lucasfilm people just know that the people on Wall Street are much more in tune with the dark side than anything else...
