Why can't we reply to comments to our answers on Mahalo Answers?
Is there plans to change this?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The way it is now tends to keep focus on the question better IMHO.

M$I tend to agree with answerman on this one. Perhaps, though, an option can be added that posts the reply but makes it private, as sort of a compromise between both trains of thought. This would avoid the answer from turning into a discussion forum, and would still provide a way to convey a reply to a specific person.
Wouldn't it however help clarifying details come out. If you just want to ignore the other answers and just do your own, you would still be able to. Having a little discussion within the answer wouldn't be a bad thing though.
