Why can't they make jean shorts of a reasonable length? What is wrong with society?

Seems to be the fashion even though we are suppose to cover up from the sun. Made famous recently by the 'Nicole Riches' of the world. There are lots of different brands of jean shorts - some are longer than others. William Rast brand are generally long, and BBC make long shorts too. And Old Navy are short!!!!
