I suspect there is high demand because it's a limited edition, higher alcohol content (5%) version of the regular brew commemorating the date on which Arthur Guinness signed the lease on the St. James’ Gate brewery in Dublin (December 31, 1759). It will only be available in the U.S., Australia and Singapore for about 6 months.
