Why can I do for my dry scalp in the winter?

Winter is coming and that means I'm about to get a dry scalp and lots of dandruff. What can I do to moisturize my dry scalp during the winter season?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

@wmay9, If you're like me u don't use conditioner on the top of your head...only on the ends which doesn't help ur dry scalp. I use Neutrogena T-gel. Or u can use anything with the coal in it. There's also a shampoo called Tegrin that's supposed to be good. And pantene pro-v just came out with a shampoo and conditioner for winter but I don't know if it works.

To moisturize your dry scalp in the winter the first thing you need to do is hydrate your entire body. Drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated. After you ensure that you are drinking enough water then concentrate on your head and hair.

If you have excessively dry scalp, you should consider a deep conditioning periodically. When you begin to feel the itch of dry skin it is time to recondition your hair.

There are some home remedies that can help you to ensure you've rinsed all products out of your hair. Many times one can believe that their scalp is dry when it is just built up with shampoo residue that has not been completely rinsed out. Try a vinegar rinse to clear any residue out. This will also strip the oils from your hair that have built up over the years of shampooing. This will help your hair to properly breathe and absorb moisture in.

But the biggest thing to remember is that you should drink plenty of fluids in the winter time.
