I do not think that all women are ruthless when breaking up with a guy. In fact, I think the opposite is true. After all, women are famous for saying things like, "I like you as a friend."

Perhaps one particular woman was ruthless when breaking up with someone? It might be because she was so hurt (either in the past or present) that she felt the need to strike first to emotionally protect herself.

For the most part, though, I think that women tend to TRY to be too nice. They might let the relationship run on way too long, or try to simply ignore the man in the hopes that they will get the point. Some women --- not all --- are trying too hard to be nice, and it doesn't always work out that way.

Ruthless, how?

There have only been three guys that I broke up with. Two of them CHEATED on me, one because a month into our relationship was too long to go without sex, and the second guy didn't want a serious relationship anyways. The other guy didn't have a job, and was trying to mooch off of me, when I was 18, and he was 26.

...please explain to me, how I could have been ruthless to any of the three guys I broke up with.

I absolutely HATE it when people genearlize. 'Why do women do this, why do men do that?' There is no answer to why all wo/men do something, because ALL wo/men don't always do that ONE thing. Got it?

If you were asking about why the women who you dated are ruthlessly breaking up with you, WE would not know, we are not them, we are all different people. Go ask them.

I think it can partially be explained in the fact that ladies are much more emotional than guys. When they have been hurt, are upset or, well, done with a relationship, they usually do it in a way that hits guys where they are not expecting it, simply because we're not used to being so in tune with that side of our psyche.

So, when a girl breaks up with you, she's doing it emotionally and guys aren't used to dealing with it that way - which is why it hurts so much.

Still, that being said,I've seen some guys break up with girls in pretty poor form as well. I've actually seen the exact moment when a girl's heart was shattered and it was one of the saddest things I've ever seen.

What it really boils down to is it's ALWAYS easier to be the dumper than the dumpee. It's simply because the dumper is already done, has probably BEEN done for a long time and has already moved past the moment of impact so to speak. All that's left is to deliver the message to the dumpee, who is usually caught off guard, and thereby effectively hurt.

Ah to be young and feel love's keen sting...
