Both USC and UCLA are NCAA Division 1 schools located in Los Angeles California. Both schools are know for their athletic excellence, USC for football and UCLA for basketball, as well as many other inter-collegiate sports. Because both schools are constantly being pitted against each other in many different sports, the competition is ongoing, in a race to be the best and most dominant school in college sports. In fact, they have been known to compete with each other head-to-head in what was called The Lexus Gauntlet(Lexus is no longer sponsoring this event) where the two schools fight it out to find out who is the best school in 18 varsity sports. Additionally, the schools battle it out in the ROTC Blood Bowl, the Band Bowl, the Kickoff Golf Challenge and Men's Rugby. While both schools are fairly close geographically, they are still bitter rivals athletically.
