Why are they even called buffalo wings? Not appetising - you don't eat buffalo, right?

No, you are not eating Buffalo. The "Buffalo Wing" is named after the area it was invented, Buffalo, NY. It is a chicken wing. It is commonly known as "Chicken Wings" in Buffalo, but is known as "Buffalo Wings" outside of Buffalo. The "Buffalo" in the title is referring to the sauce the wing is flavored in, as well as where it is from.
