Why are there so few famous lesbians compared to famous gay men?
Is it because Gay men have an affiliation to the entertainment industry?
Is it because there are more gay men than gay women?
Is it because the world is less accepting of lesbian women and so they feel pressure to stay in the closet?
Or have I simply miscounted?

Tila "Tequila" Nguyen is openly bisexual.
Meredith Baxter came out recently.
Rosie O'Donnell is gay.
These are off the top of my head, and there are more. To me, I think that men hide it more, like Ricky Martin, who was all but caught with another man.
Do you also count bisexual, because there are a few female celebs who consider themselves bisexual.

Too many men identify or are identified by their sexual activities and prowess.
It has always been more acceptable for women to display affection to each other in public. Women have been more active in public than men due to societies acceptance of female displays of affection as well as many men fantasizing about women in that way.
Can't say as I know many women who fantasize about men being affectionate with each other. Women appear to be better at not making such a big deal about it and the general public is only "fascinated/offended" by what doesn't fit in their minds (specifically men liking other men, even if they aren't poking each other).
