Why are the tips different on certain questions?

on questions where mahalo funds the tip (so the asker doesnt offer a tip) i have notice some questions have different amounts? some have 37 cents whereas some have 50?
Tip for best answer: M$0.42
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It was 25 cents for the questions funded by Mahalo up until about a week ago when it was bumped up to 50 cents. But I think that may have been too much money for Mahalo to fund, so they must have decided to choose an amount between 25 and 50 cents, and went with 37 cents.

Mahalo assigns different amounts of money to the "Funded by Mahalo" questions to see how much money is enough for people to give descriptive and accurate answers in a timely manner.

For example, why would they want to dish out 50c out when they can give 37c and get the same result. I would expect to see the amount become a set point in the future once Mahalo is done testing to see which monetary value works best.

Also, if a user marks a question helpful then they can increase the tip amount of the question. So if I mark your question helpful I can increase in certain increments.

The staff have the ability to change bow much untipped questions are automatically funded. I think they are currently trying to find the right price at which to set them at.
