Why are so many recipes based on Cake Mix? If the only change is with the icing, that is NOT a cake recipe, it is an icing recipe.

It's all the fault of Sandra Lee and her semi-homemade madness. People just like the idea of feeling like they did something creative and from scratch when really they just bought something instant or pre-made and slightly modified it.
