Why are so many people in love with Obama?

What makes this democrat so great?

He is charismatic, love him or hate him, he speaks clearly and directly. While I don't agree with all of his decisions I have to admit that I feel like he really wants what is best for the Nation, a feeling I never had with "W" Bush who always came off as boarish and selfish to me.

Despite his missteps I think he is doing a better job then McCain/Palin would have.

Well aside from the fact he is the first black president, I think alot of people are in love with his teleprompter. He speaks clearly and anytime he messes up it is covered up within seconds. If you question him you are assumed a racist so alot of those who don't like him will not speak up. There is nothing great about him. He has a few good things but I would say all in all the man needs to be running a different type of country. The same people who love him are those who are either to blind to see what is going on or to ignorant to care. Personally I don't care for his way of running our country.

I guess my first thing I would do differently would be not to lie every time I open my mouth!!

What would you do differently, with all of the limitations and opposition he has had?

I think because people expect much from him. He is seen as a person who will bring a better change, especially for the world`s peace. However, it is impossible for him to solve all the problems overnight There are so many things he should do

Without any racial insult or any of that.
Really its just because he was the first black presidant. Because of this, he began with a lot of die hard fans that mainly wanted him to win just because of his race. Apart from that, some people wanted him to win because it symbolizes change, and he made big promises. He related to the people and did good in making Bush look bad. Reality is he isnt that great of a presidant. Although you do have to give him credit, he pushed that health care bill which many men before him have tried and failed. But he is completly bombing in some areas, and IMO he can get away with alot of it because if his initial *Fans* and expectations that kinda screened what hes actually doing. Hes more of a celebrity than a real leader. And celebritys allways find ways to get attention and people making excuses for dumb things they do. = )

* Might I add, Why do so many people love Paris Hilton ? They just do.

He's been in office for a year and eight months and he's done a lot of things. He brought up the topic of health care, though I must admit it didn't go as anyone planned. He brought up the topic of better and higher education.
Certainly he isn't a miracle worker. That becomes obvious when a portion of the House and Senate continually oppose him on everything he does. I'm surprised he hasn't tried reverse phsychology yet. "I don't want to reform ..." such and such. It might actually work!
I guess I would like to hear what your view of a 'Good President' is. :)

Because he is a great orator. No one seems to notice that he is following in Bush's footsteps and now has us involved in two wars and maybe heading towards a third with North Korea. The first two tying up so much in assets that N. Korea can get ballsy. Then he extends unemployment for people and has spent so much money on programs no one seems to notice we're going broke. What happens when China calls in the loans and wants their money back. He has plausible excuses for nominating his croonies to the Supreme Court. It all comes down to a good line of...

Yes he could have walked away from the two wars and said this was part of his change plan. He would have made Americans very happy to know the boys were coming home and the dollars would be spent at home. Just about all Americans still just want us to walk away. So he HAD to follow no one.
North Korea got ballsy with us because it knew our resources were stretched so thin.
Were going broke because of Obama's spending plans which include a healthcare plan that the majority of Americans didn't want. In addition his jobs program did not create jobs but just transfer payments. Remember when a certain Bank took $75million to pay salaries to keep their employees in Germany working. And again he could have just pulled us out of the war and Americans would have cheered.
As far as spending goes everyone has something they need or want so please don't tell me you are that rare person in the World who has all their wants fulfilled. Why should you spend-to help the economy as in previous wars people bought Bonds.
We are to far into Obama's presidency to keep blaming Bush for everything. So now let's watch Obama let his friends at BP walk away without cleaning up or paying for the expenses and lost revenue in the Gulf.
Once again the great orartor will speak but he is losing steam with his speeches.

He HAD to follow in Bush's footsteps in terms of the two wars. What was he supposed to do? Drop everything and leave? I think that would have caused a lot of retaliation, and more distaste for Americans, don't you?

And N. Korea has been itching to go to war with anyone for the last 10 years or so.

We're going broke because we supported two wars for 9 years, of which he has only supported for a year and eight months.

Yes Obama is about 'spend spend spend', but so was Bush. What happened right after the economy started going to the down the hole? Bush said 'we has American's have to become consumers, and spend'. At the time I thought, spend on what, things that I don't need and can't really afford? I don't need a TV, house, car, clothes or kids. What am I supposed to spend on? Why should I spend?
