because there are so many more health issues during pregnancy that could ultimately affect the baby the older you are. birth defects are a lot more common among babies who are born to mothers over the age of 30. not to mention the fact this poor child will have to deal with their parent(s) passing away at a much younger age, possibly before they've even finished school. and the risks of childbirth at a much older age is so high.
