Why are my crickets not breeding..
I've got two bearded dragons and I am trying to raise some crickets to cut down on food costs. I have them in an aquarium , with water and food and what not. But as for the breeding pan i have a tupiware container full of dirt and damp. For some reason they seem to not be breeding.. so my question is...
A : How long do they take to lay eggs and hatch..
B: Do they need extra heat to do so? or is Room temperature good enough?
C : How much do they breed when they DO breed ?
Any other useful information would be nice = )

A. It generally takes about 2 weeks for crickets to breed and lay eggs, and It takes about 7-10 days for a cricket egg to hatch.
B.An important part of breeding crickets is temperature. They prefer to breed in warm temperatures (about 88 degrees farenheit). The easiest and safest way to reach and keep this temperature would be a reptile heat lamp, you can find them at most pet stores and some have a built in thermostat so you can set a safe temperature and maintain it.
C.Each female cricket will lay about 100 eggs in it's lifetime. They usually lay the eggs approximately 10 at a time. It is generally a good idea to remove the breeding pan after the crickets hatch because the larger crickets will sometime eat them.
