However fundamentalist Christians and fundamentalist Muslims seem to have a problem with this.
A few Muslims are fundamentalists.
A few Christians are fundamentalists.
A few Jews are fundamentalists.
Fundamentalism is a religious movement or point of view characterized by a return to fundamental principles, by rigid adherence to those principles, and by intolerance of other views.
This is the same trap that the Pharisees of Jesus' time had fallen into.
WWJD? What would Jesus do?
Jesus did not take the Jewish Scriptures (Old Testament) literally like the small minority of Pharisees did.
In fact, Jesus chided the Pharisees over this too literal interpretation.
Jesus was not a fundamentalist.
The Catholic Church has never left her fundamental principals so she cannot return to them in a movement of fundamentalism. The Catholic Church also supports freedom of religion for all.
With love in Christ.

M$It's unfortunate that Jerusalem is the "birth" of THREE major religions...
Oh... and each religion thinks that they own the "truth" about life and god...

M$Muslim and Christianity pretty much 'spawned' or 'started' in the same place and over time, somewhere down the lane of history, they deviated and now there are two different religions.
In a more simple sense, it's sort of like when you are a kid, you see a toy and so did your brother. You two go, "I saw it first! It's mine!", but of course your brother goes, "I saw it first! It's mine!"
