Why are all Mahalo dollars wiped out?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

First of all, there are two payment deadlines you will want to remember:
====================================================
1. You will need to request payment by the last day of the month, in order to get paid the following month.
2. Payments go out to PayPal on the 15th of the following month.
For you, this means that since you requested payment last night, your payment will be processed on NOVEMBER 15, not October 15. If you wanted to qualify for the October payment, you would've had to submit your payment request by the end of September. Sorry, but I guess some processing time is needed for all of the payments.
It seems rough the first month maybe, but when you get into a rhythm it'll feel pretty natural. I always wait until the last day of the month, request payment, and get paid 15 days later. It's a convenient system once you get in the groove of it.
Secondly, your balance is supposed to zero out, and here's why:
=================================================
Imagine if your account balance remained in tact for the next 32 days (before your next scheduled payment). During that time, your earnings will grow. Then won't it be confusing to remember how much are earnings you've already cashed out and how much are earnings still available?
Instead, as soon as you cash out, your balance will go down to 0 just to make things as transparent as possible.
If you find that you want a few Mahalo Dollars left to tip people with, then might I suggest not cashing out the full amount? You can request a partial payment. Maybe leave behind M$2-5 not cashed out each month?

M$I requested a payment on August but I still haven't received it. My guess is that you will have to wait more than a month.

That's what I do - I round up/down my cashout to the nearest M$5 or M$10 and keep whatever's left for tipping and important questions ;)
