Why a wonderful movie like "Titanic" not in the IMDB's Top 250 list ?
In my view, Titanic is one of the most wonderful, romantic movie ever made. With a great casting, a beautiful love story combined with the story of a great ship, directing of James Cameroon one of the best , almost everything seems perfect for me to mention this movie as one of the best movies ever made. Titanic remained as the highest grossing movie for 12 years with $1.8 billion till Avatar passed it in 2010.
But I am really surprised to see this movie has not even reached the Top 250 of the Internet Movie Database. It is only rated 7.3 out of 10 by 229,021 votes. Why do you think is the reason for this ?
Is the movie not good enough? Same repetitive love story said in a little different angle? Post your answers here.
Forgive me for my grammar mistakes. :)

Honestly, it may be due to the movie being considered too "mainstream", popular, or successful. There seem to be many, MANY film critics out there who see blockbuster movies like Titanic or Avatar to have less quality than certain art house movies or some of the less mainstream films.
Look at the Academy Awards over the past few years. They seemed to have shifted their focus from higher grossing blockbusters to lesser known films that still tell compelling stories. That's not to say that Titanic had a bad plot or a cliche one, but there are prejudices among critics against these kinds of films.
