Who's Walter Cronkite?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I think his wikipedia entry can say it best without rewording or having to quote too much.

I also added a picture of the man and some video links to his most famous newscasts that made him a household name.

thanks jeffhoard. I had a couple of them still in my history when I answered the "significant news for july 17" question last night, and just added to them for this question. :)

Walter Cronkite was an old time new anchor from when there was like only three stations on air. I never saw any of his news broadcast, any of his specials, or any of his reporting because he was of a different generation. His prime was in the black and white televised news, not the digital TMZ instant gratification the world is flat news world we live in.
