Who's the top of mind in the US when you think of "Funeral company", "casket supplier" etc...

Any brand every US citizen knows ?
Tip for best answer: M$2.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

This is typically a regional business. While there are chains of funeral homes, they are typically regional in basis, and based on the founders and long-term owners surnames so even if there are common names in the business, most people don't know that they're anymore than local chains. In addition, while there is some merging and acquisition within the business, they seem to tend to keep the local names as there seems to be some long-term loyalty associated with funeral services usage that run in families.

In casket manufacturing or supply companies I do not believe the typical American knows company names or the difference between one casket company and another.

Rhodes Funeral Home is the one that comes to mind. Not that there's much competition, the countless funeral homes and suppliers pretty much remain out of mind until needed, quietly doing their necessary business.

Rhodes comes to mind because for so many years they sponsored the Gospel Tent at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. I don't like Gospel myself but I couldn't help noticing the Rhodes Gospel Tent name. At first I thought it was the guitar company of the same name. When I discovered it was a funeral home I thought it was a very appropriate sponsor.

Their sponsorship ended when the business was clobbered by Hurricane Katrina.
