Who's playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2? What do you guys think so far?

Tip for best answer: M$3.10

I have. Still working my way through the campaign, so I can't comment on the multiplayer side yet (the coop mode looks damn cool though, so I hope to go through that after the single player mode).

Basically, the missions are shorter in pace, but there are more than in the first one. Action/adrenaline has been pumped up ten fold and there are more weapons than in the first one. In short, its pretty similar to the first one, only more refined around the edges I guess. Story is kinda confusing, especially if you haven't played the 1st one.

Things I liked:
- more weapons
- the ingame cutscenes and set pieces are really well done
- more wide open areas
- way more targets on screen. Its cool that they mixed in civilians so it can get pretty hectic with a lot of characters running on screen at times.
- missions are more varied than in the first game.

Things I didn't really like lol:
- its sometimes hard to tell which is which between your guys and the terrorists.
- story can get confusing if you don't follow what's going on and if you haven't played the first game.
- old game engine. It still looks amazing at times and runs like a champ even without the latest hardware, but I was hoping for IW to make a new engine for this because it looks way too similar to the first MW. Looking at their past games, COD2 was a big step above COD1, and MW was another big step above COD2, so I was hoping for the same thing here.

This game is amazing! It all started with the first Modern Warfare, which quickly became my reason for owning an Xbox 360 (after Halo 3 came out of course). Once the second game hit the scene, I actually had to make an effort to remember who Master Chief was?

I beat the Modern Warfare 2 campaign mode immediately after picking up the game at the GameStop midnight release. The story itself, is like a Jerry Bruckheimer movie (when his movies were still amazing), full of M. Night Shyamalon plot twists (but without aliens or Bruce Willis). Aside from the story itself, the game play was engaging, and with levels in various locations around the world - it definitely doesn't get old.

After playing for seven straight hours and going through as many Special Ops challenges as I could, I was ready for the highly anticipated multiplayer mode...

MW2 has a lot of options, perks, weapons, badges, and power-ups that the original game didn't. Even players with lower ranks can customize their classes with a plethora of goodies that can give the most seasoned of veterans a run for their money.

The original game only had three in-game killing bonuses (UAV, Airstrike, and a Helicopter). This game however includes all of the originals, along with a UAV Jammer, Care Package, Predator Missile, Armored Helicopter, and even a Tactical Nuke (I kid you not!).

The speed and pace of Live-play, seems to be much faster than the original. The controls are fluid, and seemingly more responsive - without any noticeable lag (at least in my experiences). With a large number of new maps that include unique hiding places, choke points, and fortified positions-a-plenty; the gameplay is truly magical whether you are going solo or rolling with your fellow brothers in arms.

*Definitely a 10/10 in my book, and soon to be "2009 Game of the Year."

This is a strange question for me to be answering but hey what the heck! Though it does diverge somewhat from other Call of Duty versions, it is a much heavier and detailed game, stretching ones imagination and application to the game, it is an immensely exciting, and adrenaline charged game to play.
Maybe to addictive as one can finish the campaign a little too fast becoming so absorbed in it, that it speeds by. All in all a rush, but for me the single player campaign ended much to quickly and left me wanting to play much longer. All in all I would guess it took a total accumulated time of 6 hours to complete for me in three sittings at it.
An enjoyable game none-the-less and if you are into this type of game the graphics and action are amazing.

My husband is playing right now as we speak. He said the graphics are high quality and everything looks very realistic. He also said it's a breath of fresh air to play a game that is challenging and where you can't cheat your way all through it. I'm hoping it'll take him more than a week to beat it.

My son finished the campaign two days ago, and really enjoyed it. He is using the Xbox Live on-line now, we heard the PS3 on-line is broken?
