Who won the year you were born?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I was born in 1985:
Stanley Cup - Edmonton Oilers beat the Philadelphia Flyers
World Series - Kansas City Royals beat the St Louis Cardinals (It was known as the I-70 World Series because the two cities are in Missouri separated by the I-70)
Super Bowl - The Chicago Bears won their first Super Bowl, also SB XX. Beat the Patriots.
NBA Finals - The Lakers beat the Celtics.

1985 was a bad year for Boston. *Tear* I love Boston.

Because the Super Bowl is in January that's technically the 1984 season. It depends on how you see it.

This is a fun question.

1987:

Stanley Cup: The Edmonton Oilers beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1 in game 7. Interestingly, Philadelphia's goalie, Ron Hextall, was named MVP.

World Series: The Minnesota Twins beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-2 in game 7. Minnesota pitcher, Frank Viola was named MVP.

Super Bowl: The New York Giants beat the Denver Broncos 39-20 in Super Bowl XXI. Giants quarterback, Phil Simms was named Super Bowl MVP.

NBA Finals: The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Boston Celtics 106-93 in game 6. Lakers point guard, Magic Johnson was named MVP, and received his 4th championship ring.

Yup Ron Hextall won MVP as the losing goalie, happens from time to time, The Ducks goalie won MVP when they lost to Jersey in 03.

After Hextall won that he gave his infamous "naked" interview

In 1970, the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup.

The Baltimore Orioles defeated the Cincinnati Reds in five games to win the World Series.

In Super Bowl IV, the Kansas City Chiefs upset the Minnesota Vikings 23-7.

The New York Nicks defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 4 games to 3 to become the NBA champions.

Oh, and I was born...

* Stanley Cup 1986 - The Montreal Canadiens (defeating the Calgary Flames 4-1)

* World Series 1986 - The New York Mets (defeating the Boston Red Sox 4-3 - "the Curse of the Bambino")

* Super Bowl 1986 - The Chicago Bears (their first superbowl win! - 46-10 against the New England Patriots)

* NBA Finals 1986 - The Boston Celtics (4-2 against the Houston Rockets)

That was fun! I'm not sure how you're going to pick ONE best answer, though.

the championships, for Football and Baseball respectively.

In basketball, the
Seattle Supersonics beat the Washington Bullets, aka
the Washington Wizards.
In NHL Hockey, the Montreal
Canadiens
won the Stanley Cup. Fun year.n

If you'd ask my parents, they'd say THEY won. I wouldn't. LOL!

Sorry, that could make me just a little too identifiable, if someone was trying to figure out who I am.
