Who will be the starting quarterback for the Illinois Fighting Illini football team in 2010?
After being heralded as the next coming and the savior of the Illinois football program, Juice Wiliams has moved on and left a giant hole at the starting quarterback position. This is a particularly bad time for the team to be looking for a starting quarterback considering that their head coach Ron Zook is reportedly on the hot-seat thanks to another bad season. Who will Zook anoint as the starter for the upcoming season? Will they be the starter all year?

With a dismal 2-6 record in the last 2009 – 2010 season The Fighting Illini coach Ron Zook is indeed pressured to have a stronger team season and adding salt to the wound inflicted to them by their lowly finish is their starter quarterback Juice Williams moving a notch higher to the NFL. The Fighting Illini is one of the favorites in the Big Ten Football but didn’t live up to the expectation.
With the big hole left by Williams in the quarterback position, three players are contesting the slot. Nathan Scheelhaase, Jacob Charest and Chandler Whitmer are slugging out to get the slot once held by Williams.
There are still no clear of who will garner the starting position since the team has many more days to select one and with more exposure and scrimmages in the days to come, the Fighting Illini will finally have their starting quarterback to bolster their line up and improve with their campaign in the 2009 – 2010 season.
