Who will be Mahalo Answers' first EVER black belt?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Darcy has such a large lead. Although if a test is given. It is possible somebody could catch her and pass her simply because the test slowed her to that point. Last I looked she had nearly a 2000 point lead. That's a really big lead to over come.

My vote is Darcy Logan.

Well, since I am the only brown belt...and a person must pass the brown belt test before becoming a black belt... and everyone else seems to believe it will be me....

I say Heath Ledger.

If he is good enough to win an Oscar after he's died--something many living people can't do--I think he is good enough to come in and surpass me.

Well you're definitely the favorite, but there are two people in particular who are gaining points pretty fast!

What do you think of this?

Well, easyeboy and I sort of rotate as to who is more active. And Jeffhoard works for Mahalo and part of his job is to answer questions here--it is VERY hard to compete with that. So, if they surpass me, so be it. Or, I could let them get very close and up my efforts. One never knows. I really don't worry about it. As long as questions are getting ask and answered, I am happy.

Interesting, I didn't know Jeffhoard worked for Mahalo.

I'd put my money on you, and now that I know Jeffhoard works for Mahalo; I doubt Jason would allow him to finish first.

Unless easyeboy steps up his game a lot and you slow down, I think you will win.

but we'll have to wait and see

I think it would be the one who holds up that sign, "Will Answer for Wii" as this answerer is way ahead of everyone now.

You, along with Jeff, have been gaining at a remarkable pace; and should be considered contenders.

Darcy had a big head start. I don't see any reason you can't catch up. Darcy has a good chance at getting the Black Belt first, but you and Jeff are in the race too!

Unless the volume of questions on the site increases dramatically, it's likely to be Darcy. The quickest way to catch up in points is to answer questions, and answer them well so that they are chosen as the best answer. If there aren't many questions being asked, then no one can answer them or be chosen.

I agree that it will be Sensei Darcy, but I wanted to explain why.

Looked at stats. It takes 13,000 to get black belt (plus a test I think?) Darcy has 9,000, which is 2,000 more than anyone else on answers right now. That is hard to catch up to.

Also, I have the sense that Darcy is the competitive type of person who will make sure she is ahead of the "next guy" in terms of points, even if it means going above and beyond the call of duty.

Darcy's answers are universally interesting and informative. I have not seen her whiff at an answer yet. And she clearly believes in Answers. So, I have full faith and confidence Darcy will be the first Black Belt.

I also believe Mahalo Answers will have half a dozen Black Belts, at least, by the Fourth of July, 2009.

I think we'll probably have a dozen by then.

Darcy Logan.........but if she lets a gap of 15 or more days without answering, the next five in top members do have a chance in catching her up :). In two or three months we will know who gets the black belt :)
