Islam came into existence almost fourteen hundred years ago when Hazrat Mohammed (P.B.U.H) brought the message of truth to mankind. Obviously he faced great opposition as his teachings contradicted the views of rest of the world but in his attempt to spread Islam, where Prophet (P.B.U.H) had many foes, he made many friends as well who were the very first Muslims.
Among these most prominent were Hazrat Khadija, Prophet’s wife, and His four companions Abu Bakar, Umar, Usman and Ali. All these first Muslims made great sacrifices for their religion and suffered many tortures. In fact had it not been for their efforts, Islam would have vanished. These people not only remained steadfast and patient, but fully supported Prophet (P.B.U.H) in every phase of his life. These first Muslims are surely the role model for the next generations and Muslims today should follow and imitate them in every walk of life.
