In one of the extended editions they show a short video clip of Stuart as Aragon.
The most common story as to why they fired him was that he was too young to play the role, but who knows whether that's the real story. Either way, I'm glad Viggo ended up with the part instead.
Also heard they offered the role to Daniel Day Lewis but he turned it down.
