You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The last emperor or the Eastern Roman Empire (also known as the Byzantine empire) was Constantine XI, a member or the Palaeologus dynasty. He began his reign in 1449, the successor of John VIII.

His reign ended after he was killed by Sultan Mehmet's forces of the Ottoman empire on May 29, 1453. The Ottomans maintained rule following his death.

I have to agree with anjured. In the article it says "The fourth son of Emperor Manuel II Palaeologus (reigned 1391-1425)" referring to his father. However you said he reigned from 1391-1425, yet was born in 1405. Later, it does however say later, "At John VIII's death at the end of 1448, Constantine succeeded to the imperial throne." Maybe you should reread your article.

This information is incorrect. Constantine XI was the last emperor of the Byzantine empire, also known as the Eastern Roman Empire.

Constantine I rule was more than 1000 years before the falling of the empire.

The Roman Empire was divided into Western and Eastern part after death of Theodosius I in 395
The last Emperor of the Western part with the capital in Rome (since 402 in Ravenna) was Romulus Augustulus, killed by Odoaker in 476.
The last Emperor of the Eastern part (Bysantium) of the Roman Empire with the capital in Constantinople was Constantin XI Dragasès from the Paleolog dynasty died in 1453 during the battle.
